A Crazy Month (ft. CaptainSparklez)

Wow... it's been a month already ...
Oh well.
Buckle down, folks, get a glass of lemonade, or hot chocolate, depending on where you live (because I hear that there's a ton of snow in Park City?) and get ready to be updated!  In order to try and organize my thoughts better, I'm going to take a lesson from Molly's blog and do my blog in list-style.  Here we goooooo.

1. Soccer

Back: Coach Tammy, Coach Jose, Kaley, Hannah, Tori, Mac, Nicole, Jenn, Erin, Ali, Katie W., Me, Megan, Molly, Taylor
Front: Nikki, Amaris, Lauren, Chynna, Abby, Calley, Kirsten, Jalen, Katie K, Ashley

So I don't really remember what I last told you about soccer, but I made the Varsity team for soccer!  Woo!  I was so excited, and I was hoping that I was going to get some decent playing time.  I wasn't expecting much, given that yes, I was a Freshman, and yes, I play defense, where there are already amazing Sophomores and Seniors who have played with each other before and are much more connected.  But my coach decided on our second pre-season game to put me in as Striker!  Which, prior to that game, I had no idea how to play.  But guess what?

I scored a goal!

And the second game?

Another goal!

And I played for JV my third game...

TWO goals!

Apparently I'm a Striker now...

Yesterday's game.
We are right in the middle of our season and have another game tomorrow.  There's going to be a team breakfast and a photo shoot beforehand.  If you want to follow our team and our results, be sure to check out our website.  You can click on Results for how we've done previously and our running score (we've been undefeated for 28 games in a row now), or click on Schedule 2013-2014 for who we're playing next.  Or you can just scroll down for the updates to see who scored what.  Feel free to explore!

2. Minecon

Oh yes, that was last weekend.  Most.  Exhausting.  Weekend.  Ever.  But it was so much fun!  I ended up going as a slime, which was a hard enough costume to make anyways.  My gramma was an Ender-woman, and Alex was a note block.

Alex had a speaker through which he played the Minecraft theme song.
All day.
Everyone there LOVED my costume.  I got lots of high-fives and people screaming "JERRY!" as I walked by, which made my day (besides one other thing, coming later).  That might not make a lot of sense to those of you who don't know who Captainsparklez is, but he had a pet slime in one of his series named Jerry.  There were a lot of people who were all like, "Long Live Jerry!" to which I would give a fist pump or a "For Narnia" invisible-sword-raise or a brofist.

Pretty sweet.

I'm just gonna post some more pictures now and explain about what's going on underneath them.  There's a livestream playback if any of you want to watch, here's a list of some of the panels I could find on YouTube:
- Life on Youtube with Antvenom, ihasCupquake, SkyDoesMinecraft, and Captainsparklez (I went to this one)
- The Redstone Panel
- The Opening Ceremony (I went to this - REALLY cool)
- The Future of Minecraft Panel with Dinnerbone, Grum, and Jeb (went to it, kinda boring)
- Interview with Notch (my gramma went to this one, she said it was pretty interesting)
- The Sparklez Slamacow Extravaganza Animation Panel with Bootstrap Buckaroo, Slamacow, and CaptainSparkelz (went to this one, pretty awesome)

The line to get into opening ceremonies.  It was probably four times this long.

The stage for the opening ceremony.

Alex trying out the new Skyrim mash-up pack for Xbox 360.
It's awesome.

I'll let you take inferences on who Jordan CS could be...

ANNNNDDDD

EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!
And for those of you who don't know why I'm eeking, that's CaptainSparklez (Hence Jordan CS on my lanyard, as Jordan is his real name).

Okay so here's how THIS story went.  There's a booth at Minecon called ArmadaCraft, which is a server made by CaptainSparklez.  Alex and I thought that because it was a booth for his server, he would be there.  Wrong.  I spent most of my day trying to find out where Mr. Sparklez was when Alex and I ran into a cluster of kids surrounding his friend, Nick Fenton (xNFENx is his gamer tag).  Alex kind of wanted a signature, and when he stepped into to the mosh pit of kids he heard Nick say something like "blah blah blah autographs blah with CaptainSparklez blah ArmadaCraft."

So Alex forgot about the signature and we booked it over to the ArmadaCraft booth where there was already a ten-to-fifteen minute long line, and there Jordan was, signing things and taking pictures.

Needless to say, Alex and I were very excited.

And so I was very quiet until we got to the booth, I was so excited, and Alex kept saying stupid things like:
"OMG If I look through here I can see his back!"
"SPARKLES!"
"We're so close I can smell his cologne!"

And other really stupid things in this weird voice.  Alex isn't as big of a fan as I am, but...

And so we got up to the table, Alex got his Nick signature, and we had to wait for like two minutes in front of the table while Jordan responded to a text message.  He was super apologetic and Nick kept saying things like, "Wow, shows how much you care about your fans."  And so when I asked Jordan for a picture, I gave my iTouch to Alex, who snapped about ten pics before I realized what was going on.

It was amazing.  Needless to say that picture is my iTouch lock screen, home screen, Instagram profile pic, FB profile pic, and pretty my profile pic for EVERYTHING.  And it will be

FOREVER.

Saturday night our tickets got us into an exclusive Minecon only party at Islands of Adventure.  I walked up and went on Dueling Dragons without waiting in a line at all.  It kind of felt like cheating.

3. School

I'll try to keep this one short because the others were so long.  School's great, friends are great :)

Me and Kedia
An amusing thing that happened to my juice box straw the other day...
I tried to get it out of the wrapper and it just broke in half.
WAT.
Me and Sarah C.

4. Halloween

I hope your guy's Halloween was great.  Because mine was weird.  I didn't carve pumpkins this year for the first year EVER IN MY WHOLE LIFE.  We had NO trick-or-treaters, and I only decided to go  at six-thirty that night.

So I went as a hippie

But that's okay.  I got a king size Hershey's and a king size Snickers bar among other things.  Plus...

... Minecon was my real Halloween

5. Books and Technology

While I was at Minecon, my parents decided to be awesome and get me a new MacBook Air!  Wooooooooooo!  We had been talking about it for a while but it's hard to get down to Orlando when it would kind of be a whole-day thing.  So, yay!

Also, I've finished a ton of books, but I have to read a classic literature novel for English  and have no idea what to read.  If you wouldn't mind looking at the list, and if you have any recommendations for me, please let me know!

We're also allowed to read Jurassic Park, though it's not on the list.

Book Update
Phew!  I've finished reading Life of Pi, Disney at Dawn, and Partials.  I'd give them all a 4 out of five, they're all great books.
If you want to buy any of these:

Life of Pi: Amazon, Goodreads
Disney at Dawn: Amazon, Goodreads
Partials: Amazon, Goodreads
